Aretha Franklin is dangerous territory for any singer. The songs demand more than a big voice, they need gospel instinct, soul phrasing and the confidence to hold back before letting the room have it. Vanessa Haynes has that equipment.

Best known as a long-time lead vocalist with Incognito, Haynes brings serious soul credentials to the stage. Her career includes work with Van Morrison, Chaka Khan, Billy Ocean, Lulu, Anastacia, Leon Ware, Mario Biondi and Dave Stewart, alongside more than 14 years touring internationally with one of Britain’s most respected jazz-funk bands. 

Backed by a full live band, she takes on Aretha’s great songbook with the respect and nerve it deserves. Expect "Respect", "(You Make Me Feel Like a) Natural Woman", "I Say a Little Prayer", "Chain of Fools", "Think" and "Day Dreaming", songs built on gospel roots, deep soul and absolute emotional command.





This is a proper singer meeting proper material, with enough grit, control and feeling to make the tribute worth the name.
