Blondshell has announced details of her eagerly-awaited third studio album. Spanning 11 tracks, Violins is due out September 25th via Partisan Records.

Following 2025’s excellent If You Asked for a Picture and 2023’s self-titled LP, Violins finds Sabrina Teitelbaum exploring a newfound sense of creative freedom.

“I felt like I didn’t need to overexplain anything, like I can trust the people listening more,” Teitelbaum said in a statement. “It feels like every time I make a record, I get closer to making the thing that I really want to make.”

And with that freedom, Teitelbaum digs into a number of thematic interests, including grappling with “how we balance the world’s violence with its beauty” while also “exploring troubled friendships, religion, the body, and the long, unglamorous work of healing.” The end result is a collection marked by “grandeur, drama, and tragedy, built on her signature virtuoso hooks, swelling guitars, and big lead lines.”

Following May’s release of “Heart Has to Work So Hard,” Blondshell has unveiled Violins‘ title track as the second single. The song is described as the record’s “North Star,” and explores how “true healing from trauma takes a lifetime” as its “resonance [also] extends to anyone clawing their way towards growth that requires patience.”

Added Teitelbaum, “This song sums up the album in a lot of ways. When I was writing I felt really drawn to images of patience and kindness, for example putting your head on someone’s shoulder, alongside images of violence. I was also inspired by the idea of healing slowly and refusing to be rushed by any outside force. Things genuinely just take the time they take. I’m not at a point in life where I can have a no assholes policy yet, but I like the idea of weeding out people that aren’t going to let me have limitations.”

Pre-orders for Violins are available here.

In support of Violins, Blondshell previously announced a North American tour slated for this fall. The 13-date run spans from mid-October to early November, focusing on theatres and mid-sized venues.
