Cameron Winter has announced a new concert film, Cameron Winter at Carnegie Hall, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson.
The film was captured during Winter’s sold-out performance at Carnegie Hall in his native New York City on December 11th, 2025. It was directed and shot on 35mm and 16mm film by Anderson, marking his first project after his Oscar-winning 2025 film One Battle After Another as well as his first documentary-style project in 11 years. The film was co-produced by Benny Safdie, with the music recorded and set aside for a separate, previously-announced live album by producer Ariel Rechtshaid.
Cameron Winter at Carnegie Hall will be released in theaters first, with Janus Films & Criterion announcing a lengthy theatrical tour across the US this fall and winter. The film will premiere in New York and Los Angeles on November 20th, followed by screenings in cities like Washington D.C., San Francisco, Chicago, Atlanta, Boston, Nashville, Dallas, Milwaukee, Houston, Louisville, Austin, Omaha, and more. Winter revealed his solo album Heavy Metal in December 2024, a project that went on to see significant acclaim in the first half of 2025. Consequence named his song “Love Takes Miles” one of the best songs of 2025. Winter’s upcoming live album, Live at Carnegie Hall, will be released on October 9th. It includes three unreleased songs performed at the show on December 11th, 2025: “It All Fell In The River,” “Emperor XIII In Shades” and “If You Turn Back Now.” Pre-order the new live album here.
