Charli XCX Is the Star of The Moment in Trailer for New A24 Film: Watch

A24 has released the official trailer for The Moment starring Charli XCX.

In the Aidan Zamiri-directed mockumentary, which Charli not only stars in but also created the basic idea for, the singer-turned-actress satirizes the music industry, the traditional concert film and music documentary, and the paradox of having transgressive art branded and commodified.

The trailer depicts Charli at the peak of her Brat era, though in The Moment, it’s established that this is the star’s debut arena tour; as such, there’s a lot of pressure on Charli to maintain her momentum and keep the word “Brat” on everyone’s lips. “The second people are getting sick of you, that’s when you have to go even harder,” Kylie Jenner tells her.

With a team of music executives and assistants rallying around her — and providing brand-conscious limitations, of course — Charli attempts to make her moment last via stage gimmicks (including a massive flaming lighter that Charli sits inside), promotional efforts (like a Brat-branded credit card), and the command to her audience to keep “Brat Summer” alive forever. It all begins to weigh on Charli, who reaches her limit throughout the tour and begins to lose herself in the process.

The film, which will premiere at Sundance 2026, draws upon various experiences in the music and entertainment industries that Charli has gone through during her career. The official tagline is, “A rising pop star navigates the complexities of fame and industry pressure while preparing for her arena tour debut.” Watch trailer for The Moment below.

The Moment features a packed all-star cast of Rosanna Arquette, Kate Berlant, Jamie Demetriou, Hailey Benton Gates, Isaac Powell, Trew Mullen, Rachel Sennott, and Alexander Skarsgård. It hits theaters on January 30th.

The Moment is one of several upcoming film projects for Charli in 2026, who is also set to star in I Want Your Sex and The Gallerist. Additionally, she crafted the soundtrack to Emerald Fennell’s upcoming adaptation of Wuthering Heights.
