AC/DC needed a new support act for their September 8th show in St. Louis, as the tour’s regular opener The Pretty Reckless won’t be available that night, so they got a little band called Foo Fighters to fill in.
That’s right, fans at The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis will be treated to a double bill of Rock & Roll Hall of Fame acts, as Foos were able to jump on that date in between legs of their own North American stadium tour.
A statement from AC/DC reads, “Foo Fighters are taking a special one-off detour from their Take Cover Global Stadium Tour to fill in for their friends The Pretty Reckless as special guests of AC/DC for one night only in St. Louis. The performance brings two generations of rock’s biggest live acts together for a one-night-only event, with the Foo Fighters opening for the band’s St. Louis tour stop.”
AC/DC’s “PWR/UP” tour launched last month and continues through a September 29th show in Philadelphia, with tickets available here. As mentioned, The Pretty Reckless are providing support on all dates, except for the St. Louis show.
Meanwhile, Foo Fighters wrap up the first leg of their summer tour at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles this Saturday, August 22nd, before kicking off the second leg September 12th in Fargo, North Dakota (get tickets here). Queens of the Stone age are supporting most dates.
