Larry David is tackling American history for the 250th anniversary of the United States — with vibes akin to Drunk History. The upcoming HBO comedy series Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness lets the Curb Your Enthusiasm star unleash his take on big moments like the writing of the Constitution and the Wright brothers’ first flight.
HBO’s official description for the series: “Those who don’t know history… are doomed to watch Larry David repeat it.” Guest stars spotted in this trailer include Jon Hamm, Sean Hayes, Fred Melamed, Jerry Seinfeld, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Chris Parnell, Jane Krakowski, Vince Vaughn, Isla Fisher, Joe Manganiello, Susie Essman, and Alan Tudyk — and there will certainly be many many more others featured across the six-episode season.
No matter how irreverent it might be, remember that former President Barack Obama is an executive producer on the series. Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness premieres Friday, June 26th on HBO and HBO Max, with new episodes arriving weekly.
