Monty Python’s Spamalot Kicks Off 30-City US Tour

A new national touring production of  Monty Python’s Spamalot is officially underway across the US.

Spamalot, the comedy musical that’s inspired by the 1975 film Monty Python and the Holy Grail, kicked off its nationwide tour on December 1st in Cleveland, where it’ll remain until December 6th.

The massive trek, which will visit 30 cities, will run throughout this winter, next spring, and next summer before finally wrapping up in Spokane on August 25th and 26th. Tickets to each show are available on Ticketmaster or StubHub.

Speaking about the power of comedy musicals to The Associated Press, Monty Python member Eric Idle called it the most “fabulous form of theater there is because it’s got everything you want – it can have drama, but also laughter, dancing, girls. It’s got it all.”

The cast includes Major Attaway as King Arthur, Sean Bell as Sir Robin, Chris Collins-Pisano as Sir Lancelot, Ellis C Dawson III as Sir Bedevere, Leo Roberts as Sir Galahad, Amanda Robles as The Lady of the Lake, Blake Segal as Patsy and, Steven Telsey as The Historian/Prince Herbert.

A cast recording of the original Broadway prodution of Spamalot was recently reissued on vinyl in commemoration of its 20th anniversary.
