Norm Macdonald was one of history’s true “comedians’ comedians,” which is why so many funny people have assembled for the new documentary Norm: The Tale of Norm Macdonald. Directed by Judd Apatow, the first trailer reveals a loving look at the Saturday Night Live alum and Dirty Work star, “an intimate portrait of one of comedy’s most singular voices,” according to the press release.
The press release also adds that the doc is “built entirely from archival footage, personal photos, and rare home videos contributed by fans and friends,” allowing the story to be told “in [Norm’s] own voice. This is a tribute to a comic genius whose influence on stand-up and television comedy remains unmatched.”
The movie, premiering October 16th, is one of four documentaries Netflix is releasing in October that celebrate classic comedians. Watch the new trailer below.
