Tom Hardy — yes, that Tom Hardy — once rapped under the moniker Tommy No 1 before making it big in Hollywood. In recent years, he quietly teamed up with the underground supergroup CZARFACE as Frankie Pulitzer/FacePuller for a handful of songs, and now they’re doing a full project together.
Titled Czarface Meets Frankie Pulitzer, the collaborative album will drop on August 28th via Silver Age. Besides Hardy and the trio of Wu-Tang Clan’s Inspectah Deck with Boston stalwarts 7L & Esoteric, the project features guest appearances from hip-hop royalty such as Busta Rhymes, Method Man, and El-P.

On the lead single, “Brothers Grimm,” Hardy has the unenviable task of following in the footsteps of a lead-off verse from all-time great Inspectah Deck and Esoteric dropping effortless sports references.
However, the Bane and Venom actor acquits himself admirably, showing backpack bona fides with bars like, “Karambit to jugular femoral to the gambit/ Arterial spray from the carotid to the ceiling.” While Hardy doesn’t show off the smoothest delivery, he at least doesn’t seem completely out of place.

As mentioned, Hardy has guested on several CZARFACE songs before. He performed as FacePuller on two tracks from the group’s 2021 EP, Good Guys, Bad Guys, and appeared as Frankie Pulitzer on their 2022 album, Czarmageddon!
