Thebe Kgositsile, better known by his stage name Earl Sweatshirt, is an American rapper who got his start alongside Tyler, The Creator in his hip-hop collective Odd Future. His mixtape, Earl, earned him critical praise and recognition, but shortly after he was sent to a boarding school for at-risk teens by his mother.
Following his return from boarding school just before his 18th birthday, he began recording his debut studio album, Doris, which reached the top five on the Billboard 200, and his next two releases made the top 20. All three received critical acclaim. Following these releases, he signed to Warner and released an EP and his next two albums. His most-recent record, Voir Dire, released in 2023, was a collaborative project with the producer The Alchemist.
