Tame Impala is the project of Australian artist Kevin Parker, who single-handedly writes, records, produces, and performs all of its studio music. Parker started the psych rock project in Perth in 2007, gaining early recognition through singles and EPs before releasing Innerspeaker in 2010, which earned gold certification in Australia and critical acclaim. His 2012 follow-up, Lonerism, was similarly praised, spawning hits "Elephant" and "Feels Like We Only Go Backwards," achieving platinum status in Australia, and securing a Grammy nomination for Best Alternative Music Album.
In 2015, Parker released Currents, which won ARIA Awards for Best Rock Album and Album of the Year, while its opening track, “Let It Happen”, earned him the APRA Award for Song of the Year. After headlining Coachella in 2019, Tame Impala’s fourth album, The Slow Rush, arrived in 2020.
Among the many collaborations, in 2024, Tame Impala teamed up with French electronic duo Justice on the track “Neverender”, featured on Justice's album Hyperdrama. This collaboration earned them the Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Recording at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards in 2025, marking Tame Impala's first Grammy win.
