Sing Democracy 250 marks the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence with a powerful message of hope for democracy through music. Featuring two newly commissioned works, "Redeem the Dream" by Brandon A. Boyd and "US" by Michael Bussewitz-Quarm, the music invites reflection on America's history and the responsibilities of citizens, and empowers all of us to get involved in renewing American democracy. The national initiative includes four Signature Concerts (Philadelphia, Minneapolis, New York, and Washington, DC) and an All America Program activating 150+ choirs nationwide to perform this music in their communities. The Washington concert features the Together In Hope Choir, Congressional Chorus, National Children's Chorus - Washington Chapter, and Main Line Symphony Orchestra, led by G. Phillip Shoultz, III, with acclaimed mezzo-soprano Denyce Graves. Sing Democracy 250 reminds us all that the power of democracy is in the voice of its people-and every voice matters.
