Mike Flanagan-Penned Clayface Receives First Horrific Trailer: Watch

James Gunn might have delivered a smiling new Superman with his debut DC Studios film, but the new teaser trailer for Clayface confirms that not all of Warner Bros’ new comic book movies will be quite so cheerful. The popular Batman villain, played by Tom Rhys Harries, is at the center of this horror-tinged new teaser, scored with an eerie rendition of The Flaming Lips’ “Do You Realize??” James Watkins (Speak No Evil, Black Mirror) serves as director, while Mike Flanagan co-wrote the screenplay with Hossein Amini from his own story.

The official synopsis for Clayface, courtesy of Warner Bros, describes the movie as “one man’s horrifying descent from rising Hollywood star to revenge-filled monster in a story 2that explores the loss of one’s identity and humanity, corrosive love, and the dark underbelly of scientific ambition.” The cast also includes Naomi Ackie, David Dencik, Max Minghella, Eddie Marsan, Nancy Carroll, and Joshua James.

Clayface slinks into theaters on October 23rd. Check out this first teaser trailer below.
