Founding New Order members Stephen Morris and Gillian Gilbert won’t be joining the band at Fauna Primavera 2026 in Chile later this year or on the road for the “foreseeable future” due to health issues.

In an update shared on Instagram, the band revealed, “Due to personal health reasons, Stephen and Gillian won’t be touring for the foreseeable future and will not be joining for this show. Bernard, Phil and Tom are really sorry that Stephen and Gillian can’t join us this time, but unfortunately the circumstances make it impossible.”

This means frontman Bernard Sumner will be the only original member of New Order to perform at their headlining slot at the Santiago, Chile festival, which takes place November 26th through 28th. He will play alongside Phil Cunningham and Tom Chapman, who have been a part of the group since it reformed in 2011.

It’s fair to assume Morris and Gilbert will be on hand when Joy Division / New Order are inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as part of the 2026 class on November 14th in Los Angeles.

Estranged founding member Peter Hook will be in attendance as well, though he said in late April that he won’t stand with his former bandmates at the podium.
