Sabrina Carpenter is an American singer, songwriter, and actress born in 1999. She first rose to fame starring in the Disney Channel series Girl Meets World (2014–2017). Signed to Hollywood Records, she launched her music career with the single "Can’t Blame a Girl for Trying" in 2014, followed by a string of albums, including Eyes Wide Open (2015), Evolution (2016), and the two-part Singular series (2018–2019).
In 2021, Carpenter transitioned to Island Records, marking a new chapter with her fifth studio album, Emails I Can’t Send (2022), featuring hits like "Nonsense" and "Feather." She gained further recognition as an opening act on Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour (2023–2024). Her 2024 album, Short n’ Sweet, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, spawning singles like “Espresso” and “Please Please Please”. “Espresso” swiftly climbed to #1 on the UK and Australian charts, reached the Top 5 in the US, and hit #1 globally on Spotify, amassing over 200M streams in its first month. Following this, her second single, “Please Please Please,” released in June, soared to #1 on Spotify’s Global and US charts, Apple Music, and eventually the Billboard Hot 100, where it debuted at #2 before reaching #1.
Beyond music, Carpenter has built a solid acting career, appearing in films such as Adventures in Babysitting (2016), The Hate U Give (2018), and Clouds (2020). She has also starred in Netflix productions like Tall Girl (2019) and its sequel, as well as Work It (2020), which she also executive-produced. Expanding her talents to Broadway, she played Cady Heron in Mean Girls (2020).
Carpenter has also been actively involved in philanthropy throughout her career, supporting various charitable causes. In 2016, she became an ambassador for the Ryan Seacrest Foundation, visiting children's hospitals, and donating proceeds from her Smoke and Fire merchandise to the American Red Cross's fire safety campaign.
