With his raw, anthemic storytelling and indie-folk edge, Dave Lofts has drawn comparisons to a young Van Morrison and the soulful authenticity of Paolo Nutini. Through songs that feel deeply personal yet universally relatable, he has built a reputation for honest songwriting and captivating live performances, earning a fiercely loyal following both online and on stage.
Dave’s story is as grounded as his music. A former member of the Irish Defence Forces, he brings a unique real-world perspective to his songwriting, adding depth and authenticity to his work. That connection with audiences is reflected not only in his rapidly growing streaming success — now surpassing 500,000 monthly listeners on Spotify — but also in his impressive live track record. He has sold out 25 consecutive Irish headline shows and completed a fully sold-out debut UK tour in April, including dates in London, Manchester and Glasgow.
Earlier this year, Dave performed at the 20th Anniversary Oscar Wilde Awards in Los Angeles during Oscar Week, alongside Dermot Kennedy. The event honoured actor Domhnall Gleeson, and an impromptu performance of his latest single Holy with Sarenna Farrell generated over 10 million views across social media platforms. As a live performer, Dave has shared stages with artists including Gavin James, Wolf Alice, Picture This and Kingfishr, while standout appearances at Electric Picnic and All Together Now have further cemented his reputation as one of Ireland’s most exciting new talents.

Why do we have a restoration Levy? Put very simply, our restoration levy is an additional charge added to your ticket price which is directly invested back into the venue. This money is used for critical maintenance, repairs, and preservation efforts to ensure the long-term sustainability of the building. As the 3rd oldest church building in Glasgow, dating back to 1836, Saint Luke's requires ongoing care and special restoration to maintain its historic character and facilities. This levy will enable us to fund essential projects that will safeguard the venue's future as a vibrant hub for live music and community events.
If you would like to be kept up to date on progress with how we are using this fund then please follow us on social media @stlukesglasgow, and sign up to our mailing list where we will send out quarterly updates on the improvements that your donations are helping us make.
