Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, known professionally as The Weeknd, is a Canadian singer, songwriter, and actor born on February 16th, 1990, in Toronto, Ontario. He first gained recognition with his 2011 mixtape House of Balloons, which showcased his unique blend of atmospheric R&B and dark, introspective lyrics. Over the years, The Weeknd has released several critically acclaimed albums, including Beauty Behind the Madness (2015), Starboy (2016), and After Hours (2020), featuring chart-topping hits like "Can't Feel My Face," "The Hills," and "Blinding Lights." In January 2025, he released his sixth studio album, Hurry Up Tomorrow, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart. The album includes collaborations with artists such as Lana Del Rey, Travis Scott, and Future.
